Privacy & support

Updated 22 September 2026. This notice describes the AI globe assistant for God's Eye View extension and its globe connection.

Your AI connection

When you send a message, its text, the conversation context and the globe information returned by tools are sent directly to your chosen AI provider: OpenAI, Anthropic or Google Gemini. Your API key goes only to that provider. We do not send these keys through the globe server. Provider retention and processing follow that provider’s terms; Gemini’s data-use terms differ between free and paid API tiers. Changing providers starts a new conversation; the extension does not silently send a failed request to another provider.

What stays in your browser

API keys, preferences, saved places and recent earthquake alert history are stored in this browser’s extension storage, not synced by this extension to other devices. Current chat history is held in memory while the panel is open. Keys in local storage are not an encrypted password vault. Cost estimates are local estimates, not provider billing records.

Voice

Talk uses Chrome’s speech recognition service, which can send microphone audio to Google for transcription. The recognized text then goes to your chosen AI provider when submitted. Read-aloud replies use the browser’s speech synthesis service, whose processing depends on the selected browser voice. Voice starts only when you use these controls.

The globe and data sources

The globe loads from the configured website. That host and its data providers receive ordinary network information such as your IP address and requests needed for the displayed areas and layers. Maps, imagery and public feeds have their own terms. Selecting text with the context-menu action sends your selection to the globe for lookup. The extension does not automatically collect the contents of the pages you visit.

Earthquake alerts

Alerts are off until you enable them. When enabled, the extension checks USGS earthquake data periodically and keeps recent events locally to avoid duplicate notifications. In a hosted release this public feed is delivered through the globe server’s shared cache; development builds contact USGS directly. Opening a source link takes you to USGS. Pause stops new checks. Region filters use the region you choose, not background device-location tracking.

Diagnostics

The globe’s optional voice diagnostics are off by default. A locally operated installation can explicitly enable diagnostic logging; those logs may contain conversation text and are governed by that installation’s operator. The extension does not upload analytics or advertising identifiers.

Remove your information

Use Settings → Remove my extension data to remove locally saved keys, preferences and alert history. Close the panel to discard its current in-memory chat. Uninstalling removes extension storage. Globe website storage is separate and can be cleared in Chrome’s site-data settings. Removing local data does not delete records held by AI or data providers; contact those providers for their deletion controls.

Contact

Contact the publisher

For a connection problem, check your internet connection and try again. Include the extension version and the error message when contacting support; never send an API key or an unredacted conversation.
